VISITING NON-TOURIST CAVES IN CROATIA
For visiting non-tourist caves, you must get permission to visit
particular cave. It is necessary to submit a written Demand for a
visit and a Programme of the visit to the Ministry of Culture,
Department for Nature Protection. You must also get permission from
a local National park or Nature park if the cave is in that area.
To obtain a Permission the following demands should be fulfilled:
1. All members of visiting group should be members of a caving club
or a kind of speleological organization.
2. All members should have an insurance in the case of an accident.
3. All members should obey to Croatian laws.
The best way for visiting some caves is to contact the clubs that
are working in particular area.
According to the Law of nature protection
(Zakon o zaštiti prirode, Narodne novine 70/05), you can not enter
any cave in Croatia without written permission, except touristic
caves (show caves). In the caves you can not take with you any geological or
biological sample without the written permission of the Croatian
Ministry of Science, Education and Sports.

SPELEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION IN CROATIA
For
organizing speleological explorations or expeditions you must get a
Permission for a speleological exploration. It is necessary to
submit a written Demand for a visit and a Programme of the action to
the Ministry of Culture, Department for nature protection. You must
also get permission from a local National park or Nature park if the
cave is in that area.
The best way for visiting pits or caves is to contact the clubs that
are working in that area and join their expeditions, but you must do
that at least 6 months earlier, because it takes time for them to
get all permissions for you.

2. All members should have an insurance in the case of an accident.
3. All members should obey to Croatian laws.
